  • Aww man, we stayed in Pagosa Springs about a year ago and it is a special place. Those hot springs are healing. Unlike a bathtub, the heat stays constant so it really penetrates deep down to your bones. That valley along 160 leading up to Wolf Creek pass is so lush and beautiful. Looking forward to your Ouray adventure. I went there many years ago and saw wild mountain goats while hiking.

  • So, after perusal a few of your articles, I decided I needed to come to Colorado. Just pulled into Pagosa Springs this evening. Will be Durango, then a few days in the Silverton and Ouray taking the same hikes you shared, including the Jeep rental. The crazy thing is on my way through the mountains today my Sprinter van wouldn’t paddle shift anymore and I noticed I was losing power climbing the hills. I made it to my campsite and when I was talking to my wife this evening, who couldn’t make this trip with me, and as I told her what was happening with the van she said “Iwas perusal a article this evening of a young couple who took their Sprinter van to the Artic Ocean. While they were traveling, the van had the exact same issue. ” She texted me the link to the article. I opened it up and started laughing. It was you guys! I watched Adam deal with the valve issue, and now I know what I’m doing first thing in the morning before I make the hike up to four mile fals. Your articles got me here, and then helped me with my van. Love perusal u guys!!!!

  • Loved Pagosa Springs…breathtakingly beautiful and the hot spring looked so cozy and warm (even if it was a bit smelly 🤣)! Root House was adorable…so glad you were able to stop in (too bad Amy’s sister wasn’t there!). I always love to see Kona Bear appearances and the bloopers at the end! Kathryn, your air guitar was on spot and I think you can join Adam on tour!

  • I’ve hiked that trail to the first waterfall before when I lived in Colorado! While playing around at the falls, we got hit with a pretty big hailstorm. We took cover under the shelf for the worst of it, then hiked back to the car as it tapered off. That was an awesome day, a crazy adventure, and incredibly beautiful views! This article makes me miss Colorado so much!! I’m glad you were able to experience it! Next summer you should go hike up Mount Wheeler in New Mexico! That was, hands down, the most beautiful views I have ever seen. Definitely take some time to sit for a while about halfway up and admire the view with your eyes! A camera doesn’t do it justice!

  • Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, those hot springs looked VERY inviting. I sure wish I was there. My son and I spent 4 days in Miami with day trip to Key West…and got drenched from torrential downpours but made the most of it by checking out cool places in the Keys and it was nice and sunny, and we aren’t done as we are headed to the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. I have done the Million Dollar Hwy and Ouray is a cool town. It definitely looks like the “Switzerland of the USA”. The ride is absolutely SPECTACULAR!! Great article👍👍👍👍👍!

  • We ventured through Pagosa Springs last summer but only got a glimpse of the hot springs because of our one night stay. We’re in Colorado Springs for the summer, so we’ll definitely have to head back there. Thanks for sharing those hikes. You’re absolutely right, you can’t beat the smells or the sites here in Colorado. It’s fun to find snow in May, too.

  • QUÉ HERMOSAS CASCADAS!!!!!!! your Spanish class of the day! LOL. You are so much fun guys! I was totally distracted perusal your article and didn’t realize a deer was walking by me… being in nature under the pine trees makes you so relaxed deers don’t even care about your presence. Going to visit a couple of cascadas west of Deadwood or Spearfish today myself. Congratulations on avoiding the snow balls, great technique!!!!! Jajaja (Spanish laughter) thank you for another great article! 👍

  • awesome! glad i found you guys! great content for people that love nature and want to travel to special places. the hot springs look relaxing. i did a lot of that many years ago when i built trails in Yellowstone Park right out of high school……nothing like relaxing in a hot spring in the middle of the wilderness at night with a full moon and sky full of stars….doesn’t get any better than that. keep up the great work!

  • I think the hank of hair that falls in front of your face (the same that whips around in the wind), Kathryn, MAKES the air guitar scene. And hearkens back to hair bands (before your time, mostly). Whaddup with the sandals / flip flops on that trail, A? And in the snow? “A” must actually stand for “Alaska”. I know there’s a lag time with these Adventures, but have you been dealing with any smoke from some of the wildfires (which are not ginormous like last year but the heat wave has led to an early fire season in the West)? I love the look of Utah, but the green of Colorado. Love the green.

  • Pagosa is one of my all time favorite places. We usually stay for a week so it pays for us to get a 7 day pass to the Hot Springs, a great way to end the day with a nice soak. No sulpher smell. Looks like you missed the overlook just west of the pass and off to the north. It is a dirt road that leads up to the cell phone buildings and a great overlook of both the east and west sides. Travel Safe. PS… you did say Ouray correctly. Stop at the visitors center and chat with Paula. 😉

  • Thanks for sharing your article. We love nature. Can’t wait to enjoy the hot springs. We’re going to be in Colorado for 5 days in next week. Any “FREE” it helps for seniors and disabled people like me. Any boon docking, free RV park or state park you recommend so I don’t have to drive forth and back too far from visiting places.

  • I absolutely love your articles! One question though, on hikes that are outside of national parks have you considered not giving the name of hikes? I’m a native to Colorado and am all for tourism but we’ve had so many trails including ice lakes, hanging lakes, etc. that are overwhelmed with foot traffic, and the trails are quite literally getting ruined. Happy you enjoyed the falls! Looking forward to see where else you go to in Colorado!

  • During the runoff, you can tube float the river for miles. PS is our anniversary destination most Septembers. Didn’t get to go last year. We are moving to the OZARKS so we can’t go this year. Hopefully, we’ll return for our 46th. That dish looked good but I doubt there is a store in Arkansas that sells ‘Carne Picada’. I’ve never heard of it. Tell the truth though… you made a cup of sauce and scooped on a spoonful. When the camera was off, did you poured in the rest!? I’m addicted to your library. I’ll try not to be a pest. You make good vids.

  • The natural hot springs reminds me of the boiling river in Yellowstone but without the 100’s of people! You guys mentioned having visited the RMNP – was that before you started this website… I’ve never watched a article of yours there (and I just went and looked for it) but couldn’t see one. I’d love to see you guys exploring that NP. 🏕️🥾🌄 I’ve heard the continental divide trail is even harder than the PCT, but when we were in Yellowstone, I remember passing a number of those signs for the continental divide. We camped in Ouray, but after van troubles (was doing a group tour in van… not van life like you guys!) we got there SO late… like the last bits of day light to pitch our tents kinda late that we didn’t see much of the area (headed to Telluride the next day) So I’m interested to find out what we missed and whether we should be headed back there at some point!
