However, there is no gender gap for white and Latino newlyweds, but nearly a quarter of black men wed someone of a different race or ethnicity in 2008 while only about nine of black women did.
The vast majority of Black girlfriends exclusively and purposely date Black men, so they get a lot of questions about their UN-friendly dating roster. Colorism and racial bias in the industry stop many tattoo artists from learning how to work well on clients with dark skin. Some black women constantly get asked if they like white men after they’ve matched, and the dorky white boys are as white as a white man.

Everyone in the comments section seems to be missing one major factor: hypergamy. Women marry UP. Black men don’t have anything. Only 20% went to college, and most of us that do go don’t study STEM, we study things like social sciences. I’m a white guy and I have a story to share because this is literally so true: When I was in high school this overweight and not very good looking white girl asked me out. Not to be rude but my type is skinnier white girls. I obviously rejected her respectfully and in her social media she posted something along the lines of “once you go black you’re not coming back”. I feel like the reason white girls strictly date black guys has to do with them being rejected by white guys/broken up by white guys or cheated by white guys.. As a white boy who dates black women I don’t specifically set out to date women based on race, I could care less what color they are. I connect better and have more chemistry with black women, which leads to more relationships with them. Meh. Idk about this. I’m from Jersey, currently living off Rutgers campus, in a very liberal, progressive town. I think it’s even all around: I’ve seen white men with both fine looking black women and below average ones; I’ve also seen black men with below average white women and some bad ones. But one thing I do notice – a white person, man or woman can be painfully average, hell even below average and bag some of the baddest members outside of their race. It’s really all just a testament to how Americans perceive whiteness. We standardize it as default, so everyone not included in that coveted racial group (men, women, blacks, asians, indians, spanish alike) tend to vastly overvalue having a white partner. About 4 yrs ago, I was at Pier 39 in San Francisco, just hanging out with my 2 grown children. My children had left to do some shopping, so I found a table to sit at. This is true generally speaking most women prefer to date within their own race and do so for the most part, however, as a 32 yrs old black man that has dated and slept with many women of different races, when it comes to interracial dating there are three types of white women that will date and sleep with black guys more often than not: 1. Fat white women 2. White women over the age of 35 (especially if they were divorced) 3. White women who grew up in the hood or hangs out with a lot of black women These type of white women I like to call “layups” because you will have no problem dating and sleeping with them if your an average black guy. I can speak from personal experience here. I dated a fine ass BW in college. She gave me shit all the time because of who I was. Years later I ran into her. I learned that she a had married a white me. She married a man that had the same undergraduate and master’s degree as me, and was in the same field. I never spoke with her about it, but I feel like she praised him for everything that she ridiculed me for. He was smart and and ambitious, but I was a lame nerd for being interested in math and science. I’m not ashamed to say that it hurt bad. On the other side of the coin, I’ve dated that hefty white girl too. I never had to pretend with her and honestly I would still be with her if I could. I met my ex’s husband and witnessed them together and was floored. The way she acted around him was totally different. I seen a person that I had never seen. To make a long story short…she was a real loving woman for that white man, but wanted to fight and disagree with me on everything. It’s something I’ll never forget.
