Does Dwayne Johnson Have Real Tattoos?

4.5 rating based on 57 ratings

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, popularly known as The Rock, has two tattoos that represent important facets of his life and identity. His most famous tattoo is a large tribal piece across his left arm, shoulder, and chest, which stands as a testament to his Samoan heritage and culture.

Johnson began enhancing the tattoo in 2017 to cover up a smaller and more simple design he got done during his early career. He also has a half-sleeve brahma bull tattooed on his right arm, an epic cover up of a much smaller and older piece. Johnson’s most prominent tattoo is a tribal themed artwork that covers his left shoulder, chest, and arm, reportedly of Polynesian origin and is a representation of his heritage.

The Rock, the first 3rd generation WWE wrestler to have so many tattoos, has been spotted showing off his three tattoos on different occasions. In an interview with a news outlet, Johnson said that each of his tattoos has its own story.

On August 11, 2023, The Rock has two tattoos on his body, paying homage to his cultural roots, family, and struggle. The first tattoo is a half-sleeve skeleton of a bull on his right upper arm, which he got four years ago.

Johnson is currently being tattooed by artist Yomico, who revealed that he spent close to 30 hours having it done in his basement.
