Can You Still Get Tattoos After Svend Dies?

Spoilers Ahead In the game, Svend, the tattooist, dies in his sleep, leading his apprentice, Tove, to take over his duties. To gain access to tattoo and hair customizations following Svend's death, players must complete a quest titled "Carrying the Torch" with Tove. This quest requires players to interact with Tove in Ravensthorpe after Svend's passing. Post-quest, Tove manages the tattoo shop but might not initially provide customization options. Players may encounter issues trying to interact with her despite holding tattoo schematics that could cause item duplication.

After Svend's demise, player options for appearance changes are limited until the quest with Tove is completed. Even once the quest is done, players might find it challenging to engage with Tove right away, as she may need some time before offering services again. Players have reported situations where Tove is present, but there are no dialog options available to initiate tattoo services. The quest "Carrying the Torch," available after completing "Reporting on East Anglia," begins when players check on Tove after Svend’s death. Tove is shown to be mourning her adoptive father's loss, but with Eivor's encouragement, she resolves to continue his legacy as the chief tattooist for the Raven Clan.

Before Tove can provide tattoo services, it’s necessary to ensure that she has a proper place to work, including constructing her a home. What Is Tattoo Tipping Etiquette

What Is Tattoo Tipping Etiquette?

Tipping your tattoo artist is an essential aspect of tattoo etiquette that reflects appreciation for their skill and craftsmanship. It is crucial to understand the customs of tattoo tipping etiquette, as this not only honors the effort of the artist but also fosters a supportive tattoo community. When determining how much to tip, you can draw parallels to the tipping practices observed in other service industries, such as hairdressers, massage therapists, and restaurant servers.

Understanding the tipping etiquette related to tattoos is as vital as selecting the right design and artist. Factors such as the size and complexity of your tattoo can influence the appropriate tip amount. The established guideline suggests tipping between 15% to 25% of the total tattoo cost, depending on the intricacy of the work performed. For simpler tattoos, a 15% tip can be standard, while a custom or intricate design warrants a higher percentage.

When budgeting for your tattoo, it's wise to incorporate the tip into the overall expense. If the combined total of the tattoo and tip exceeds your financial capacity, consider postponing the appointment until you can afford both. In the current post-COVID context, tipping has become even more significant as many artists depend on these gratuities to supplement their earnings.

The etiquette surrounding tipping includes some essential practices: it is best to tip in cash whenever possible. This ensures that the artist receives the full amount without any deductions. The typical tipping practice is often calculated based on the overall price of the tattoo, with many clients opting for a 20% gratuity. Tipping should ideally occur after the tattoo is completed, either at the end of the session or when settling the bill.

While tipping is not mandatory, it is an expected gesture in the tattoo industry, and clients should refrain from feeling offended if someone doesn't provide additional gratuity. Ultimately, the goal is to express gratitude for the time, dedication, and artistry your tattoo artist has invested in creating your new piece of art. Thank you for visiting our page and for considering these tips when engaging with your tattoo artist!

  • I think I found a fix or a workaround. I started this mission and did exactly what you showed here, but even then Tove wouldn’t show up in the shop no matter what I tried (sleeping, raidind, doing main missions etc). I randomly went to the Barracks in my settlement and collected the silver from my recruited warriors, then changed my main warrior’s appearance. After leaving the barracks, something popped on the left of my screen saying that the mission from Tove was completed. I immediately went to the tattoo shop to check if Tove was there and she was!! I talked to her ans fixed my hair and tattoos. If anybody tries this and it works please let me know!

  • To everyone asking about the tattoos not working… the game is glitched, its happening across all platforms PS, XBOX, PC- I tried to contact ubsoft still waiting for a reply, but I’m sure they know about it by now and will probably be fixed with the next update, I’ll let you guys know more when I do.

  • well,he died in his sleep instead of another character who’s name I can’t remember now ( maybe Finnr?), is that guy that help the sasson guy to be a king and if you fight the enemy instead of him you will enlist him and he will come with you in your camp. In fact the tattooist dies right after you end this mission. what I want to know is,if you don’t enlist him and he die then will the tattooist still be alive?
