  • I’m 80 years old and when I had a massive heart attack 2 years ago they’re was no one around to help me. So I played this song at 11 and grabbed my 2 Bose speakers and placed them on my chest and jump started my heart with TOOL. Now I listen to them daily and I have never felt healthier in my entire life! Thank you TOOL, You saved my life!

  • I’m about to turn 33. I’m bankrupt, I lost everything, I flew to Thailand, I was left alone on the islands without friends and without money, and I only regret one thing, that I didn’t find out about this masterpiece group Tool sooner! Take care of yourself brothers, soon we’ll all be there together In the world! we sinners have nothing to fear!!!

  • I remember getting the album from my older brother. He comes home after a night with his friends and hands me the album and says “Listen to this now. It just came out. It’s yours”. I was 14. Ænema(album and song) shaped a part of my life. I still get the same feeling listening to it now as the first time I heard it. I did a song review of this song for my grade 10 English class. My teacher said it was an interesting song to choose but he liked it and the review.

  • I’m 34 and until now my only experience with tool was in my twenties when my roommate would “schism bomb” myself and the roomies, meaning he would put the schism article on the tv and turn it all the way up as he left for work 😂. I’m pretty passionate about spirituality, grew up listening to hip hop and R&B, missed this era completely. A couple phish concerts and guitar lessons under my belt now, and my god, do I have a deep love for this band now. I almost passed out hearing this song for the first time lmao. I wish someone would’ve opened my eyes sooner. Love to you all 🤘🏽!

  • This song was on the radio when my mother was dying of cancer. She was 68 years old. I told her about the song and we listened to it together. She told me that when she was young, people would share commentary through essays published. And people would read them and then write an essay of response. She felt that this music was a progression of society to accomplish the same end. She thought it was interesting.

  • “Some say a comet will fall from the sky, followed by meteor showers and tidal waves, followed by fault lines that cannot sit still, followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.” That’s some poetry right there. Als, can’t help it, I love the word “dipshit”. It’s a good word. not often I hear it worked into song lyrics.

  • Nah but dead serious this song is probably my greatest inspiration. It all started right here all those years ago, in the back of a random car hearing this on the radio right? Somehow we all knew it would come full circle. Thanks Maynard!! In the beginning of the end of the beginning of the end of the End, and also the Beginning (🤔 i think thats how it goes) You helped change things after all!! yay!! 👍🎉🖤💙🩵💛💜

  • I’ve loved tool since the beginning. Back then though I was in my early twenties and really only liked them because I thought they just freaking sounded killer. But now that I’m much older and tad bit wiser I’m listening to the lyrics and all I can say is I really wish I had payed more attention to them back then. Holy shit they are awesome and even more so now than before. Genius.

  • Cause I’m praying for rain And I’m praying for tidal waves I wanna see the ground give way I wanna watch it all go down Mom please flush it all away I wanna see it go right in and down I wanna watch it go right in Watch you flush it all away Time to bring it down again Don’t just call me pessimist Try and read between the lines I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t Welcome any change, my friend I wanna see it come down Burn it down Suck it down Flush it down

  • I don’t think I’ve heard a more perfect song written in my life. There’s so many layers to this song and the structure is amazing. It’s a proper song in every sense. Nothing specific stands out, every member of the band has their own contribution to the song and stands out in it’s own way rather than a guitar solo dominating the song for example. If that makes sense

  • We were sitting around the fire on a super cold December nite in Massachusetts. I remember it like it was yesterday. My buddy and I were super cold from the chaos that had erupted in the harbor that day and we had felt accomplished, but completely drained. Someone in the distance started playing a banjo and humming this song that we had never once heard. We all knew then that the end was near soon that nite; but we filled with triumphant songs & sudden Burts of revolting energy once more. We would not be England’s tool we proclaimed that glorious day in 1773.

  • (Intro) Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey (Verse 1) Some say the end is near Some say we’ll see Armageddon soon Certainly hope we will I sure could use a vacation from This bullshit three ring circus sideshow (Chorus) Of freaks here in this hopeless fucking hole we call L.A. The only way to fix it is to flush it all away Any fucking time, any fucking day Learn to swim, see you down in Arizona Bay (Verse 2) Fret for your figure and fret for your latte and Fret for your lawsuit and fret for your hairpiece and Fret for your Prozac and fret for your pilot and Fret for your contract and fret for your car It’s a bullshit three ring circus sideshow (Chorus) Of freaks here in this hopeless fucking hole we call L.A. The only way to fix it is to flush it all away Any fucking time, any fucking day Learn to swim, see you down in Arizona Bay (Bridge) Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey Hey, hey-ah, hey, hey, hey-ah Hey, hey-ah, hey (Verse 3) Some say a comet will fall from the sky Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves Followed by fault lines that cannot sit still Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits And some say the end is near Some say we’ll see Armageddon soon I certainly hope we will I sure could use a vacation from this Stupid shit, silly shit, stupid shit One great big festering neon distraction I’ve a suggestion to keep you all occupied Learn to swim, learn to swim, learn to swim ‘Cause Mom’s gonna fix it all soon Mom’s coming ’round to put it back the way it ought to be (Instrumental) (Verse 4) Learn to swim, learn to swim, learn to swim, learn to swim Learn to swim, learn to swim, learn to swim, learn to swim Fuck L.

  • This is my favorite Tool song, hands down. I saw them live for the first time in 1993, and I have been hooked ever since. I would argue that this song does not imply that humans are awful and deserve Armageddon. I would argue that Maynard is begging humans to look around and find some empathy for each other and the Earth that sustains us. I’m sure you disagree. But, listening to Tool for more than 25 years has given me some insight into his lyrics, and I believe his motive is, in the end, to educate and inspire. This song has moved me through some of the most difficult times of my life. 💖💖

  • 5:05 : i was sitting outside, and it was raining. i was perusal the sunset, and it was greenish. not the rain, but everything else, sort of like a rainforest, but I live in texas so it was really cool, but like, i remember i was kind of bummed out, but when i heard that little part, everything felt light. like i didnt have any problems weighing down on me. it was pretty great, and ill never forget it. 🙂

  • I used to lock myself in my room with this album on repeat when it came out playing Commander Keen games and F-15 Strike Eagle II. Best cathartic experience to-date. I remember going to get spacers for my braces with my mom and the agonizing discomfort afterwards, but we got ice cream and I had a special day with my mom; it was such a special day that this 35-in-December guy remembers. I miss that old Samsung II computer before the internet. Rest In Peace to Principal Tucker at Haskell Middle School in Broken Arrow, OK. You were right about so many things. Sad to hear you passed as an adult. I was just a confused introvert with no friends or social skills with a lot of problems, but this album got me through all of them. I miss that kid and would love to have that part of me back before I went down the road that I did.

  • I really miss the more nihilistic side of the band. I understand that part of art is evolving past destructive mentalities but I don’t think negativity ever actually goes away. It is either mitigated, swept under the rug, or embraced fully. Mitigation being the obvious healthiest choice I wonder why the band never seemed to really return to this form? It’s all good though. I really enjoy the newer stuff but still think the older material packs a better punch.

  • It really was a fantastic TOOL show last night. It was my third time getting to see them since I was in my 20s when they first came out. Yeah these guys are just such an amazing band, they’re powerful and energetic and their music is really primordial. When I say that they come out on stage and fuck you up with a wall of sound, I ain’t kidding. Couple things that I thought were really cool was all the parents with their kids enjoying this concert. it was fantastic to see a whole new generation of young people falling in love with such a terrific band, not to mention how awesome it would be to be able to take your kids too, that would be a fantastic night. kind of makes me regret not ever having kids, it would be really fun to be able to share the things that I love with somebody I love. Which kind of brings me to the second thing that really impressed me, the guys in the band had their families with them and at the end of the show they brought out their kids out on the stage and let them throw Frisbees and stuff out in the crowd, which I thought was pretty cool but what was really kind of amazing was the bass player Justin Chancellor, his little girl, she couldn’t have been more than maybe 4 years old. she just stood there and stared at the audience in wonderment and you know, I was 40 meters from where she was but I could just tell the awe on that little Spirit seeing all those people just in adoration of her daddy. What an amazing experience to have as a little kid, I got all new respect for that band especially the bassist, that was just fucking cool.

  • I had the pleasure of seeing tool perform at the Toyota center a few years back . I must say out of every concert I’ve ever been to tool was by far the absolute best ! Great show, awesome vocals & ofcourse top shelf visuals it really was an experience. Tools one band that you feel was worth every penny of the cost to go see, highly recommend.

  • Warning probably not the actually lyrics just want to know (most) of the actual lyrics before listening to this song. Feeling misanthropic as ever. Feeling slightly sullen and numb. But I just love alternative metal and how you can totally feel every emotion in that song. Then in that moment you become one with yourself. As you enter the darkness; You shed light upon oneself. ÆNIMA Some say the end is near. Some say we’ll see Armageddon soon. Certainly hope we will. I sure could use a vacation from this bullshit three-ring circus sideshow of freaks. Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call L.A. The only way to fix it is to flush it all away. Any fucking time. Any fucking day. Learn to swim, see you down in Arizona Bay. Fret for your figure And fret for your latte And fret for your lawsuit And fret for your hairpiece And fret for your Prozac And fret for your pilot And fret for your contract And fret for your car. Certainly hope we will I sure could use a vacation from this stupid shit, silly shit, stupid shit.

  • I’m sorry. i so desperately wanted to let this go, but this song does not relate to these times. the song is about Maynard’s dislike for hollywood, celebrities, and the entertainment business’ exploitations. It’s about hoping mother earth will take California into the sea, for a fresh start and do away with all the bullshit. It is NOT about civil unrest or learning to swim for self preservation. i’ll see you down in Arizona Bay. peace

  • ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Psalm 114 New International Version Psalm 114 1 When Israel came out of Egypt, Jacob from a people of foreign tongue, 2 Judah became God’s sanctuary, Israel his dominion. 3 The sea looked and fled, the Jordan turned back; 4 the mountains leaped like rams, the hills like lambs. 5 Why was it, sea, that you fled? Why, Jordan, did you turn back? 6 Why, mountains, did you leap like rams, you hills, like lambs? 7 Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, 8 who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water.

  • You don’t have to like him. You don’t have to rep vendetta. This isnt a gaza vendetta MVP’s thing. The kid talented. He made the most of it. He work. He came up and whatever or whomever you support you gotta hand it to him. He’s a great one. He told you he would do it. He has done it. He keeps doing it and you gotta feel compelled to give him his share of respect as he undoubtedly deserved it.

  • Smh… This youth is just on a different level. Can’t believe some people don’t see and appreciate the genius that he is. The man envisioned all of this before it happened and made it a reality. Jah Know…Real Mastermind. This article is emotional and motivational at the same time. Big up all the vendetta fans….never see a force so strong 🎭

  • I have to admit you have to give this youth props. He does his thing with great militancy, intelligently with mastery of what he’s doing. Very strategic and he holds his own. He stays away from the media, stays low key, construct his songs and lyrics properly. As you can see now he has his own lane and momentum so really does not have to release a ton load of songs at once. Quality over quantity

  • Every time I come to listen Alkaline’s music and I see the likes (don’t care about the dislikes) and I read the comments, it warms my heart to know that Alkaline has some very loyal fans, so I can only imagine him reading our comments. He must be in awe, I know he is overly appreciative of us. #vendettafamily #keepfirm #loveuno

  • For all the fast finger youtube haters, the article = hot 🔥 the lyrics = hot🔥. Corona prevented Alka from flying to Jamaica hence why the article is shot this way. He knew his fans wanted a visual so he gave us this and we appreciate it and respect it. For the simpletons who don’t understand it, watch it more than once. It’s not hard to understand, is like unnu want people to spoon feed unnu the content smh.

  • The actors played their parts really well in telling the story. Looking at Alkaline’s demeanor put a smile on my face because we all witnessed his struggles and over and over again he proves to us that all the shit people been talking about him is gone in the wind. Nothing didn’t fazed him at all . So peeps block out the haters and focus on your dreams if you want to successful.

  • #OceanWave for those who dont understand this vid, Alka is trying to say that as a youte growing up he keeps having flashbacks of sum mysterious event, then found sum news articles in his mom room, huge waves hit south east Jamaica (Kingston) high level of Alkaline and mysterious baby found at crash site, date on newspaper 1993, Alka knew he was born 1993, hence start putting the pieces togather, why would his mom have all these articles hidden, so he set out on his journey to fullfill Destiny, leaving his diary n song book behind, mom read his book n realize the news articles are missing, then went to the crash site knowing they can no longer hide the truth or stop destiny, found his shirt with the last piece of newspaper, then content with herself knowing she wasnt his real mother anyways and now he’s off to fullfill what was truely intended for him to do on this planet, which is taking over #Dancehall #Oosshhh #Move 🖖🔥🔥🔥

  • Simple meaning: Alkaline is a cosmic star that hit the earth in December 19, 1993 (9 is symbolic of completion in numerology) which is his birthday (carrying 4 9s: 2020 he will turn 27 (2+7=9). He has mastered his craft in the music and life. The loud IMPACT (his song) of the Star (Alkaline) on the ocean (sea water is alkaline in nature) created a tsunami and the tidal wave devastated earth (changed dancehall- main danger) and settled out as high levels of Alkaline in the waters (music business- new level unlock). His earthly parents found him after the Star impacted earth and didn’t want him to know that he was from another planet and galaxy. Though this was common sense to him and big news carried in the paper they knew someday he would find out. His mom hid the news articles and Alkaline always wanted to know what his mom has been hiding from him. One day when she was a sleep he sneaked in her room and took out the articles. Everything he read woke him up to who he was. Everything was in alignment with the young Lawd in him- a cosmic child with a multidimensional spirit. His earthly father job lost was his call to relive his purpose (regain his true power of a star) and return home. The article was his map to where the star has impacted the ocean and the portal for him to return to the cosmos. When his mom realized the articles were missing they found out that he realized his powers and who he was and that he would return home to the cosmos. They rushed to the impacted site.

  • This man is a genius! Hands down, you a the king of dancehall. You did something in this article that may seems simple by certain people but is way more than wat we see. 😊 😊 😊 😊 You gotta be thinking out of the box for this one. • Video Explained: Alka (aka #SpaceKid) came to earth as a comet ☄️ which created a #OceanWave. The lady n the man found him n decided to be his parents. Alka then read the old papers about his arrival to earth and then got some #Flashback about his arrival from space. Idlers from his community was always trying to call him out for non-progressive reasons but he ignored them because he knew it’s neither here or there if they liked him (i.e. dem #NahFiLike him) as long as he stayed focus on his super-abilities to do school work and write songs. At 1st he did not realise his abilities in these areas are above everyone else (i.e. #NuhAverage) because he’s from out of space but his father then came in n told him the bad news that he got laid off and that instantly kinda activated his full #SpaceKid mode and he then remembered everything about how he came to Earth. He then rode back to the site where he created his 1st huge #Impact and from there he transformed into a massive force that can only be heard and felt but cannot be seen anymore (play on how every1 feeling and hearing Alka songs running the place but we not seeing him in vidz, interviews, etc). His Earthly parents then went to the #Impact site because upon reading his book they realised he found out that he was a kid from out of space. The pic found in his jacket was a msg to his Earthly parents that he’s gonna be creating more #OceanWave now that he fully knows he’s an unstoppable force that has to do what needs to be done by an #EliteOnly.

  • I have to be wondering if alka and YouTube at war. Or the owner / company no like him. Every thing every song the man drop them freez the man view and all a rapper a get 30 million view a day them views not freezing.. Alka the fight is really.. Them really no like you. Alkaline gave you guys a early warning from Mar 6 “Tidal wave yuh nuh safe under the Cabana”… they never listen now they are drowning… and this is only the first major wave you guys still have time save yourself… when the next wave hits a problem… 💥

  • Don’t let this article go over your head first article was major waves hit the coast of Jamaica..second article was that the water contained ALKALINE …third article was that a baby was mysteriously found at the site of the impact that created a 50tf tidal wave this day was December 19 1993 the day alkaline was born …..New level unlocked again 👨🏾‍🎨💯
