Used to run a music website. Got to interview Kid and Joe at a store signing in WV in 98 or 99. The big album had just come out and I had been playing it on my college radio show. I didn’t know the story and had thought Joe C was a kid when I heard the album. I asked Kid Rock about him and he called him over so I could meet him and explained everything. This was right before he blew up and the instore was not heavily attended. He gets a lot of bad press, but I would have to say that Kid Rock was probably the nicest “Rock star” I ever met. Seemed like a truly genuine guy and although he hadn’t reached the level success that he would at the time, I would guess he’s still pretty genuine. They were playing a little Rock club in town that maybe held 300 people. Within a year, the were back playing the 4000 seat arena.

I’m un South Florida, and went to most all theFlorida shows.I saw the Tampa show,just before the Detroit show, on December 31st,1999,w/Ted Nugent, Sevendust, and Metallica. I was there . I also sawRock play in Colombus Ohio,@ Polaris Amphitheater, which I guess is no more : demolished. Those were good times. But,like everything: the good times came to an end. I still jam out Devil Without A Cause every once in awhile. I know every word on it. I can’t drive anymore, due to my habits I had . So,the lifestyle has changed. But,I just wanted to say,for Joe C. : I was there ! Keep on livin’ . You’re only as old as ya feel. Aight !? ✌️ ~ CB
You know it’s funny I always see causes of death that say complications from “X”. In many cases that’s true, but I’m also convinced that it’s the result of a myriad of prescribed drugs taken for a condition that might not necessarily have required all that. Though they won’t tell you that. I’m not a doctor but I also know that things can be over-prescribed to such an extent that it can significantly lower your lifespan. I’m not saying that’s the situation in this article, just be discerning of what you put in your bodies. If it’s absolutely necessary – do it. But if not, see if there’s a better way. You might live longer.
Went to school with lil joe .. he knew alot of wrestlers of wwe he did one segment on wwe smackdown where a wrestler picked him up put um in a can and rolled him down the hall smh cant remember the wrestler lol but joe said he made more money on that one segment than he did the whole time he was with kid rock so if anything bobby just shown him the world and some fun never to many dollars just saying RIP MY BROTHA .
Damn 26 that’s way too young and one year off from the 27 Club I mean if I was going to die young that’s the year now I’m worried about 37 I’m always worried about some thing I got to learn to live for the now and enjoy the now that’s something I noticed that I look back and I’m like man those are awesome days but then I remember I hated those days so I don’t want to look back when I’m 47 being like man 37 was awesome I got to learn to love the now cuz who knows if tomorrow is going to come
Why does the thumbnail say “Kid Rock’s Joe C”? That makes it sound like kid rock owned him as if he were a pet or something. I understand you can say for example “Metallica’s Lars Ulrich” but I don’t think it works that way here. But anyways It’s not a big deal I just thought it was like accidental dark humor about little people. But great article and RIP to Joe C.
