Did Sylvester Stallone Get Tattoos?

Sylvester Stallone, the 76-year-old actor, recently covered up a second tattoo that was dedicated to his estranged wife, Jennifer Flavin. A tattoo artist named Zach Perez shared a video over the weekend showing the transformation of a tattoo of Flavin's eyes on Stallone's upper arm into a vibrant leopard design. This cover-up has been praised for its artistry.

Stallone has a lengthy history with tattoos, having gotten them primarily to mask scars from injuries sustained during his action movie stunts. His tattoo collection includes a significant piece on his back featuring an angel with rust-colored wings, surrounded by flames rising from a skull pierced by a dagger. This piece connects his shoulder tattoos into a cohesive design.

Interestingly, Stallone did not have tattoos in the early part of his career; he started acquiring them during his mid-career break when he welcomed his three daughters. Initially, Stallone's tattoos were thought to be temporary for his role as Rambo in the iconic film series. However, it turns out that his tattoos are indeed real and serve as personal expressions rather than mere film props.

One of Stallone’s most notable tattoos featured a portrait of his wife, Jennifer Flavin, accompanied by three roses representing their daughters. Stallone received his first tattoo, a boxing glove entwined with a rose on his right shoulder, during the filming of "Rocky Balboa" in 1976, symbolizing his passion for boxing.

The recent removal of Flavin's tattoos follows the couple's filing for divorce after 25 years of marriage, which may lead some to believe that all of Stallone’s tattoos were fake. However, it is now clear that the tattoos are indeed genuine representations of his personal life and experiences. He has made significant alterations to his tattoo collection in recent months as part of an effort to erase reminders of Flavin, resulting in a body now adorned with a diverse array of tattoos.

Stallone’s tattoo journey has been documented by various sources, revealing insights into the artists who crafted his body art, including Mike DeVries and Mario Barth. The recent changes signify a reflective journey for the actor as he navigates personal transformation amidst public scrutiny.

Why Is Danny Trejo Called Machete?

Director Robert Rodriguez envisioned the character Machete specifically for Danny Trejo, describing him as akin to a Mexican version of Jean-Claude Van Damme or Charles Bronson, with the concept of releasing annual films under the name "Machete." Trejo first portrayed Isador "Machete" Cortez in the Spy Kids franchise from 2001 to 2003. In 2010, he reprised his iconic role in the spin-off film Machete, which is a continuation of the Grindhouse style and features some footage from prior works. Trejo’s character quickly gained notoriety, transforming him from a tough character actor to a leading man with the success of Machete.

Trejo's journey from a life of hardship, including a stint on death row at age 21, to stardom is remarkable. He first crossed paths with Rodriguez in 1985 when he attended a Cocaine Anonymous meeting, later landing a role in the film Runaway Train. The character Machete, a legendary Mexican mercenary, was first introduced in the Spy Kids franchise, offering a contrasting portrayal compared to the darker elements of the 2009 film. Rodriguez confirmed that Uncle Machete in Spy Kids was named as an homage to the character from the other films.

The storyline of Machete follows the titular ex-Federale, who is betrayed and left for dead by corrupt figures. Rodriguez also shared that he conceptualized Machete’s character during the filming of Desperado. With the intriguing premise and Trejo’s strong performance, the film Machete gained widespread acclaim, indicating that Trejo had indeed secured his place as a leading action figure. As Trejo reflected, the homage of Uncle Machete connects both depictions; however, the cinematic trajectory of Machete charted a distinctly fierce and relentless path. Trejo's stature at 6'9" adds to the imposing presence he brings to the character.

  • The Danny Trejo movie is a must see! He didn’t learn to act in prison…he was on a film set after he got out helping an actor I think through addiction… and landed a small role….end of the day Danny said that all the good things that happened when he got out of prison….was directly through helping others out… something I will never forget.

  • Trejo did NOT learn to act in prison. After prison, Trejo..an ex addict himself, was a drug counselor mentoring a recovering drug addict who happened to be working on a movie set. The director took one look at Trejo, the Calif. State Prison Boxing Champion when he was inside, and offered him $500 a day to teach Eric Roberts to box & be Roberts opponent in the movie. The rest is history.

  • Even though he looks like a serial killer, Danny Trejo is a super nice guy and one of the most respected actors in the business. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry and has been in tons of films and tv shows. And I DOUBT that the body was better than Salmas. Can’t see that happening.

  • yo, if you’re perusal this now, there’s a documentary about Danny Trejo’s life from a 12 year old heroin addict and small-time armed robber to being one of the most famous prisoners in california to getting out and becoming a motivational speaker and counsellor for inmates and addicts to being typecast as a latino prisoner in 80s movies to now having played in almost 400 acting roles according to imdb…. it’s an excellent and fascinating film. go check it out. it’s called Inmate 1: the Rise of Danny Trejo

  • Too funny! George Lopez story w/Salma is funny too! : George doing a radio interview and the dj asked him what are his upcoming projects. George says “I’m working on this movie with Salma Hayek, who will play as my love interest in it. There’s a sex scene in it and I told Salma not to worry because I’m going to let all my acting skills out for that one!!” 😂

  • I knew Danny Trejo had done time and it’s not something he keeps a secret. As far as I recall, he landed his first role as an extra on Runaway Train, where he was on the set as a drug councillor. Another ex-con on the set recognized him and suggested he train Eric Roberts in boxing. (There’s a boxing scene in that movie.) That started his career. I’ve no idea how much of it that’s true, obviously, but regardless, a cool story. 🙂

  • Danny is a survivor, I went through the system starting at 14 first stop, juvenile hall then Los Pinos and YGC, then 1 step away from CYA but my probation officer told me if I went to the service as soon as I turned 17 he would cut me loose, I took his advice and left at 17years old but after I got out I went back to my old ways, hanging out with the fellas and getting in trouble again, to make a long story short I was staring at 25 to life at 22 years old which got whittled down, but because the evidence didn’t back the charge I did some time, once I got out I turned my life around, stopped hanging around the old crew, got a good job and met my future wife ( going on 35 yrs) and had kids. I retired from the Postal Service with 26 years, I will be 62 so I can relate to Danny Trejo’s life story because I grew up way also. Danny is a testament to the fact that you can be a knucklehead, but you can always change your life around and become an asset to your people🙏

  • I got put it in the system at 13. For playing with fireworks. Little kid smoke bombs near the highway. I was charged with illegal fireworks (even though they were purchased in town legally) I got 2 years probation. Anything and everything I did from there they could get me in trouble. I was trapped. Parents disappointed, they can call the PO and have you sent to juvi.
