Who Inherited Amy Winehouse'S Money?

After the untimely death of Amy Winehouse on July 23, 2011, her fortune, which was estimated to be around $4. 66 million, was distributed according to intestacy laws, as she did not leave a will. Winehouse's entire estate was split equally between her parents, Mitch and Janis Winehouse, who separated when Amy was nine years old. These circumstances marked a tragic chapter for the family, as they faced not just the loss of their daughter but also the complexities surrounding her estate.

Winehouse had approximately $6. 7 million in assets, but after accounting for $2 million in taxes and debts, her net worth at the time of her death was reduced to $4. 66 million. Mitch Winehouse was appointed the administrator of her estate, managing the distribution of her wealth. Due to her lack of a will, her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, did not inherit any part of her estate despite being married to her during a significant portion of her career. Fielder-Civil reportedly sought a claim against her estate, demanding £1 million from it by 2019, but was unsuccessful in receiving any inheritance.

Despite her immense success in the music industry, including significant earnings from album sales and royalties, her estate's value was considered modest compared to her peers. As the legal heirs, Mitch and Janis Winehouse handled the estate's management following the singer's passing, with the probate documents clarifying their rights to the inheritance.

In sum, the tragic loss of Amy Winehouse underscored the importance of estate planning, as her untimely death led to an intestate situation. With her assets divided equally between her separated parents, efforts from others, such as Fielder-Civil to claim part of her estate, did not succeed, re-emphasizing the complexities of inheritance laws in the absence of a will. Ultimately, her legacy continues through her music, while her parents navigate the financial aspects of her estate amidst deep personal loss.

Does Blake Still Have Amy'S Tattoo?

He is known to be a father of two children, Jack and Lola, from his previous marriage to Sarah Aspin. Although he rarely discusses them, reports indicate he has their names tattooed on his body, and he still has Amy's name inked behind his ear. Interestingly, Amy's tattoos appear to be inspired by Blake's; for instance, he has an Elvis tattoo on his heart, while she has a tattoo of Blake. Both also have two pinups on their right arms. Amy Winehouse is reportedly trying to remove all traces of Blake Fielder-Civil from her life, starting with a tattoo of his name on her chest.

She has sought advice on erasing her well-known "Blake pocket" tattoo. Recently, Blake was seen with a new teardrop tattoo on his face as a tribute to the late singer, coinciding with the release of the controversial biopic, "Back To Black." Some speculate that Blake is seeking to achieve a degree of immortality through his association with Amy, as he has named one of his daughters after her. His tattoo of Amy is located under his right ear. Meanwhile, it is noted that Amy plans to cover her tattoos in tribute to Blake, as indicated by her long-time tattooist.

The tattoo artist mentioned that discussions about Blake often rekindle Amy's memories and pain surrounding their past. Amy's "Blake pocket" tattoo, which she got earlier in their relationship, remains a subject of significant emotional weight, and she has expressed the desire to transform it into something new, reflecting her journey moving on from Blake Fielder-Civil.

Why Did Blake Leave Amy?

Blake Fielder-Civil, born on April 16, 1982, in Northamptonshire, England, faced a tumultuous upbringing, with his parents divorced before he could walk. His relationship with his stepfather and stepbrothers was reportedly strained. Fielder-Civil's marriage to singer Amy Winehouse, which began in 2007, quickly deteriorated due to personal issues and legal troubles. He was incarcerated for assaulting a pub manager shortly after their marriage, leading to increased stressors in their relationship.

Fielder-Civil cited adultery and a "intolerable" living situation as reasons for seeking a divorce shortly after his release from prison. The couple's divorce was finalized in 2009, but it was mired in complications, particularly with Winehouse's ongoing battle with alcohol addiction. Despite their separation, the couple's lives remained intertwined, with Fielder-Civil's insecurities leading him to fear that Winehouse would leave him for someone famous. He discreetly attempted to sever ties to free her from the relentless scrutiny of the tabloids.

The divorce proceedings were tumultuous, marked by public breakups and reconciliations, as well as accusations of infidelity on both sides. Notably, after Fielder-Civil saw photos of Winehouse with another man in St. Lucia, he sought to end the marriage, which Winehouse later acknowledged involved substance abuse. The couple was granted their divorce on the grounds of adultery, with the underlying issues of addiction playing a significant role.

After the divorce, Fielder-Civil reportedly entered into a brief relationship with Sarah Aspin, whom he met during rehab, and they had a son together. Despite his new relationship, he could not escape the shadow of his past with Winehouse. Fielder-Civil's absence from Winehouse's funeral, denied compassionate leave to attend, underscored the complicated dynamics between them. Ultimately, after the divorce, Winehouse continued to struggle with addiction, leading to her tragic death from alcohol poisoning in 2011, marking a heartbreaking end to a tumultuous relationship filled with love and pain.

  • I was having a drink in a local pub in the 90’s when i was young & fresh and a guy i knew walked in and said “hey buddy, come around the back, i’ve got a treat for you!” It turned out to be a line of cocaine which immediately made me feel incredible! That was the beginning of a 25 year long catastrophic drug addiction that completely destroyed me. I’m lucky to be alive but i’ve done irreversible damage to myself. It’s shocking how one spur of the moment decision can alter the entire direction of a person’s life.

  • Theres a book written by her best mate called “My Amy” and it so so heartbreaking to read. People forcing her to perform while she was ill, all because the industry wanted to make money from her. I’ve been a drug addict, I know the pain and harm it does to you and the people around you who love you!! I did it to get over the death of my mum, and the more I took the less I didn’t feel the pain I was going through…but I wasn’t seeing the pain I was causing to everyone else. I can see both sides of an opinion when ppl say “Noone forces it into you or makes you do it, it’s your choice, you sniff a line/smoked/pick up a pin or pipe”…..People do drug or alcohol to fit in or to impress or to mask what they are really feeling inside….I’ve been clean 8 years and I’m proud myself. I’m never ever gunna say I’m never gunna touch drugs again because every day is a new day I don’t know what could happen BUT I try my best to avoid them situations and go to bed every night and think “we’ll done another day clean”. I still go to NA meetings every now and again when I’m feel anxious or need to refresh RIP Amy xx

  • she did not, nor could not, give up crack cocaine. it is so addicting beyond comprehension. when amy mixed alcohol abuse with the drugs it does not take long to pull you further down in despair. unfortunately no one stepped in and locked her into rehab for an extended stay. I don’t know what answer is. sadly it’s too late. rip

  • Poor Baby, she gave so much love to everyone except to herself, she really needed a friend, a confidant. I don’t blame Blake because he was clearly fucked up in the head, bad influences do affect! I can’t imagine the hell Blake lived when she passed away. Rest In Peace mermaid, you’re no longer in pain.

  • this article is sad look at amy at home but still being filmed, hes says she got no privacy in one of his interviews but it was him filming her,and when she went to sing at that concert look at the guitar players face,it says it all,he looks like wow what wrong with her look sad, blake was a real bad influence,he didnt kill her but he knew what he had from the start hope he enjoyed himself cause he sucked the life right out of her,her dad may have not of been perfect but he tried to keep her working to get her away from the bad influence to give her the space to think for herself cause you can see by this blake had a control thing on her so sad,my advice to girls be strong !love should never mean you have to change yourself to be with the person you fall in love with or i think you were never meant to be,move on there will be another

  • I’m a young kid and just now finding out about her story just touches my heart I’ve heard about amy before but I never thought about listening to her music i wish I would have been found out about her she was a beautiful woman who had a big future ahead of her. She didn’t deserve this, even typing this makes me tear up lol❤️. just wish she never met blake and just said no to the drugs. REST IN PARADISE AMY WISH YOU WEREN’T GONE SO SOON❤️.

  • look man people go thru shit, form bad coping mechanisms and all, that is how life goes, but how the fuck could anyone who genuinely cared for her let her go on stage infront of millions of people like that? where was her dad and her family.. or even the integrity of her band mates? its upsetting to see her out there by herself.

  • The most loving souls fall the hardest she cared she cried that’s why she didn’t wanna feel anymore or care anymore 🌹rose for beautiful souls who are lost becouse of there love and light some people want to ruion that and take that away but when u care so much it hurts when people wanna hurt u cuz u want to love them

  • As much as I am a huge die hard fan of beloved Amy I feel as if they did hit eachother and Blake was a woman beater as well as a junkie. Her best friend Tyler wrote in his book that one day she had an argument with Blake, Tyler waited in the car and she came back with a burst lip, Tyler was gonna go sort him out but Amy said to leave it. They both had no idea they would be one of the most talked about couples in the 2000s, so sad rip

  • Fed up perusal these articles of a wonderful talented young woman being dissed. Aren’t we all brought from stardust to try this life.? Some people can hack this Mundain life others who are the wisest and more intelligent among us choose to leave it early. Who can say, who’s right who’s wrong. Look at your own lives. Decide!!!! Xxxxxx

  • Even when she was high as hell she managed to sing, you can’t deny real talent. As much as that soul got damaged Amy she had her talent. I hope her soul is back on Earth again in another human that’s just a child right now and in next 15 years we will hear Amy again. Because talent like that don’t die it gets past on in soul cycle of life. In the name of God and Jesus. amen and rest in heaven with angles singing to God and Jesus Amy Winehouse. I love you Marek RYBAR

  • Amy didn’t use cocaine and crack for the first time, but crack cocaine and heroin. After all, you can clearly hear how Blake says it on the recording. Besides, the aluminum foil with heroin is clearly visible. I know what I’m saying, because I’m an addicted person myself, unfortunately. Greetings. I❤you Amy, my sis.

  • I was at the gig the night after this seeing lily allen and her set list was still on stage. She was also on the train behind us on the way up and was kicked off the platform for smoking. Such a sad tragic story. I’m reading the latest book ” Amy in her own words” makes me want to cry – was such a sweet child growing up

  • I have met many drugs addicts, probably over 100, both through my personal life and job and its certainly not cmmonplace for people with drug problems to try and coerce there partner into it UNLESS the relationship is already abusive and has a big power imbalance . Obvioisly none of us know the in and outs of what happened between them but it was so unhealthy. Sadly, I think Amy would have gone down this path without Blake. She has alot of precursors. This article is so so sad…

  • i will never understand how ANY management could have allowed someone so obviously a drug addict to go up and perform. is it the role of the crack cocaine addict to consider if they’re fit for stage?! you must be joking. letting someone in THAT mental and physical state go up on stage is outrageousness

  • He was addicted to drugs before her. She became addicted to him when she met him. He welcomed his addictions to her. She happily did it because she would do anything the man she was addicted to would do because that love drove her. In the end Blake got clean and could easily release himself from her. When she lost Blake, her true drug, she really lost it fr. I don’t want to say he did this to her but he definitely introduced it to her and she did it because it was him. Once he left there was no other way for her to express herself other than to keep doing the thing she used to do with her favorite person

  • I don’t know why so many people blame Blake so bad. I think is a hole problem, the paparazzis, her bulimia and anorexia, don’t forget that this kind of drugs kills your hungry, I met some girls that go on cocaine exactly for that reason, her dad was bullshit, he just saw a money fount on her, makes her work when she already had the money to go the fuck away from media and that was what she need. She was too young and week for what was the industry that days, I don’t know if still follows people and attack them with flashes, today would be punished to criticies an artists for their issues or for “not being pretty”. Nobody stands her, she was a really sexist person, looking for support on man that didn’t love her, at least in a healthy way. Too good for her era.

  • She was no stranger to drugs and alcohol before she hooked up with him, but he did nothing to dissuade her from following his lead into the really hard stuff. She wanted to do whatever he did, and she did. I am hard pressed to think of anything good about him. He was bad news…and she couldn’t get enough. Tragic all around.

  • Reminds me of how my step dad would shout for my mother upstairs leaving us kids downstairs while they took H, they’ve been on it for more then 15years. No matter how much I begged her to leave she couldn’t and wouldn’t easy to blame the man but the woman has her part to play. I know Amy didn’t have kids and my mother did which she should have chosen us over H. Addiction is addiction a choice as first then it’s downwards from there. Such a shame that she met Blake yes because if she hadn’t off maybe she would be alive but who knows. She had her part in it aswell as Blake. Just like my mother had her part aswell as my step dad introducing the drug to my mother both woman could have said NO but they didn’t… sad..truly is

  • from perusal a lot of footage and coverage of this entanglement, I’m beginning to wonder if he was just a completely loveless soulless fucktard who used her and her wealth, obviously filmed tons of incriminating footage for a big pay-off later down the road…maybe even foreseeing her death. I suspect the other girlfriend may have been hip to it all…the girlfriend/baby mamma even confesses in an interview that she “let” Blake have sex with Amy because she claims to have ” felt sorry for her”. I mean, WHO FILMS THIS KIND OF STUFF BUT SOCIOPATHS AND PSYCHOPATHS? Poor girl was so blind.

  • I HAVE BEEN A HEROIN ADDICT FOR MANY YEARS HAD WOMAN WHO NEVER WOULD NO I WAS ON IT AND I WOULD NEVER GET A GIRL ON IT UNLESS SHE WAS ON IT ALREADY AND WAS SICK THOUGH HAD 2 WOMAN THAT HAVE BEEN ALSO USERS AND WILL NEVER GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN BECAUSE ALLTHOUGH IT FEELS LIKE LOVE IT’S REALLY NOT 2 JUNKYS CAN’T BE TOGETHER IT’S IMPOSSIBLE AND HE WAS THE KIND OF GUY THAT WOULD FEEL SO SHIT INSIDE HE WOULD HAVE ANYONE GET ON IT JUST SO HE WOULDN’T FEEL ALONE TRUST ME IT’S THE KIND OF FRIEND THAT GOT ME ON IT?NOT REALLY A MATE AT ALL BUT SOMEONE THAT NEW I COULD PAY FOR HIS HABIT AS WELL FOR HIT’S UNTILL I FOUND MY OWN DEALER NOT SURE WHY I WOULD RATHER BE ON MY OWN THAN GET SOMEONE THAT HASN’T USED ON IT IT’S JUST SAD TO SEE.HER HUSBAND WAS JUST USING HER HE WAS SCUM AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN HUNG BEFOR THEY COULD MEET SO SAD SHE DIED TO FAST

  • Such a gorgeous woman, beautiful and such a talented singer. All her toxic boyfriends would’ve never showed her nearly as much love as I would’ve if I was in a relationship with this gorgeous soulful woman. I’m big on hip hop and punk rock more than anything, but everytime I hear that voice of hears combined with the unique instrumentals that are specific to Amy, it makes me feel like I’m on opiates almost.

  • About the MONEY thing, everyone is talking about. He wanted money, monthly! 😮After there divorce he wanted not just half of her income but wanted to keep getting money… I mean what the hell!?! No reason to give him money after the divorce, like really?? Read about it, he did try to get money from her. He wouldn’t talk to her, he had his lawyers contact her… heartbreaking 💔 That is not love and screw you Blake for going on the news saying “I’m sick of everyone blaming me for her death” well if it acts like a pig and looks like a pig, it’s probably a fucking PIG! Used her for his habit. It was drug love. She truly loved him, but when you are doing drugs together, it’s a whole other relationship. It’s ok Amy, you didn’t mean to leave us so soon. 😢We will all see you again… ❤😊

  • It was a wrong path … from the beginning.. but u know love is blind …. for her.. He was toxic … hurting her If he loved her he would not leave her side… or get pregnant another woman lol thats sad and sick at same time …. Amy was healthy and in good shape After she knew him … took the dowm road… non stop Yes she is grown up and can decide … but drugs are drugs addiction is addiction Her father did not help her properly and did not stop that maniac from her He would had put some security barriers by law from him 😢 Look how he is taking articles of her in a messy room having addiction…. thats sick

  • Nobody gets to see the end of sin and gets to see what it does to a person. I’m I recovery to and I use that statement when talking about addiction. All we see are the girls and the bright lights and good time friends… We don’t get to see what that girl or guy usually looks like when they are at the end of their ropes. We just see the great times and think that the party never ends. Sin starts out fun and enjoyable but after years of antagonizing life controlling issues most people if they don’t find their way just fade to the blacklist. And we never get to see what it looked like in the beginning ever again on anyone when your staring at death… I’ve been to hell, jail and Yale and I’m telling anyone whose reading this please find a reason to stop before it’s to late. Everyone is into a good comeback story. In the end nobody is into addiction except the people and the drugs that are taking you down to death. Please find a reason to live and recover. Because it ends up ALWAYS in 3 places one we cross the line from recreational use to addiction and that’s JAIL, Asylums, and in the ground 6 ft under. Very rarely will you ever see anyone who has crossed the line ever to be able to come back to the other side of drug or alcohol abuse. Again if you read this and your struggling know that people care and I love you. Amen

  • The two men’s in her life that what supposed to love her,how she love them are both a piece of shit…Her father making her the ATM that he needed of course he’s going to say no to rehab.. he wanted her drunk and doing drugs so he will take her money when she was all drugged up that’s why he said she didn’t needed rehab he Didn’t want her to get better of course that’s how they make the money they are both a piece of s***… The husband is another abuser that was only with her when she was all pretty but when she got skinny and ugly then he kick to the side🤬🤬they both deserve to suffer in This life.Thank God for Karma she definitely are gonna make them pay with tears of blood!!!

  • im in the minority i guess..but i just cant stand the way she sang..to me its just whining…..lol..maybe thats why Winehouse… its just like the sound of her voice is someone dragging their nails.down a blackboard…thats how it sounds to me…and by the end she was so wasted all the time she was just mumbling the words…
