How To Get Rid Of Recovery Derm Tattoo Covering?

3.5 rating based on 101 ratings

Tattoo artist Casey Hart recommends using the Recovery Derm Replace Bandages As Needed for a healthy healing process after laser tattoo removal. The process involves washing the area with soap and water, applying Hustle Butter or other lotion, and removing the covering as needed. Dagger uses a “second skin” covering that stays on the tattoo for about three days, keeping everything off site. Gilbert Soliz suggests layering these steps to fully cover the tattoo, allowing coverage to build up.

Recovery typically takes longer than laser tattoo removal, taking 10-14 days. You may need more than one session to remove a tattoo, which may cause scarring, redness, or changes. Another option is to have the tattoo faded for a cover-up, which takes around 3-5 sessions to achieve enough fading. After 4-7 days, gently peel away the Derm Shield back over itself, wash your tattoo with unscented soap and warm water, and use unscented lotion for the rest of the healing process.

To use Saniderm, remove it within 24 hours of getting a tattoo, loosen the adhesive under warm water, rub oil around the bandage’s edges if stuck, and use Dr. Bronner’s and water to loosen the adhesive. Pull out instead of down to minimize ripping. Tattoo artist @sarastigmata shows how to use the brand’s specific instructions: leave it on for 24 hours, then take off and reapply and leave on for 4-5 days.
