How To Make Red Henna For Tattoos?

3.5 rating based on 31 ratings

This step-by-step guide teaches you how to create stunning henna tattoos using all-natural ingredients. Henna is a reddish-brown paste made from the leaves of the Henna plant, which has been used for thousands of years to make hair dye. Black henna is the strongest and often used for bolder designs, while red henna is more delicate and better suited for intricate, smaller designs. To create beautiful henna tattoos, you need henna powder, lemon juice, and essential oils.

To start, gather all the necessary ingredients and tools. Measure out ¼ cup of henna powder and measure out ¼ cup of lemon juice. Practice regularly to improve your hand control and create smooth, flowing lines. Experiment with different pressure levels to achieve varying results.

In a bowl, mix 25 grams of henna powder, 13 grams of sugar, and 7. 5 milliliters of essential oil. To capture the reddest possible henna stain, start with high-quality henna and henna the palms of your hands or soles of your feet. Mix the henna paste, cover it with plastic, and let it sit for 24 hours. Apply the design, let it dry for 2-3 hours, and cover it with 50 grams of organic henna powder, 15 grams of sugar, and 15 milliliters of eucalyptus oil.

To achieve darker henna stain, avoid water for at least 24 hours and try tiger balm or niligiri oil after removing the henna. With simple instructions and a mix of ingredients, you can create beautiful, temporary tattoos that leave a lasting impression.

  • It works well if you use chemical free henna. I mean natural henna not those kind of Rani etc. Here in Nigeria,we use ready to drink hot tea,or tea bag with warm water sugar and lemon or sometimes tamarind only can do the magic. You mix and apply immediately and wait for an hour and if you remove you get thst deep wine red colour. But if u are as lazy as i am,you mix and leave it yo stay for an hour b4 you apply which means you won’t have to stay long with it b4 u wash it off.

  • Will just cloves help the colour may I ask? I henna my dark brown hair & would love to get a more burgundy colour, but I have curly hair. When I first started using henna 2 years ago I used lemon or lime in it & my curls were really super-relaxed/turned into waves. I thought it was the henna that had done it until I had no lemon in one time so I mixed my henna with just cold chamomile tea instead & my curls were back! It had been the lemon that had damaged my curls not the henna!!! But I would not put this on my hair now with lime in it now I know what that does to my curls…..
