What Does The Tattoo Of Alfie Deyes Mean?

4.0 rating based on 139 ratings

Alfie Deyes, a British YouTube star, vlogger, and author, has only two known tattoos. The first is a “bee” tattoo on his right forearm, which he got matching with his father. The meaning behind the tattoo is from the childhood book “Guess how much I love you”, which his mother used to read him all the time growing up.

Alfie is also known for his family vlog and humor videos on his YouTube channel. He is also famous for his writings. He got a matching bee tattoo with his father on his right arm a couple years ago in Amsterdam, and a moon/waves tattoo with his mother on his left.

The tattoos have been a source of controversy, with some commenting on the naff Hallmark illustration with “So sorry for your loss” inside the card. Alfie’s conversation with his girlfriend Zoe Sugg has also been criticized for his “liddle” bit.

In a 2015 video, Alfie surprised his father with matching tattoos, which he uploaded to his YouTube channel. The line itself appears to be the size of Ottie’s foot if the lettering is removed. The meaning behind the tattoos remains unclear, but it is clear that Alfie is not a big tattoo lover.

They have also been associated with gun crosshairs, suggesting the wearer may be a hitman, ultimately hinting at a violent fate. These tattoos can be tailored to reflect individual meanings, making them appealing to those seeking unique designs. In prison culture, wrist tattoos commonly depict a prisoner’s conviction history, intertwining personal crime narratives with representations of their time served. Tattoos hold layered meanings, based on personal or archetypal significance; individuals may select symbols that resonate with certain interpretations.

For instance, cross tattoos can symbolize faith, spirituality, and perseverance, while the crosshairs of a weapon symbolize precision in targeting. What Does The 7 And 2 Tattoo Mean In Nobody?

In the movie Nobody (2021), Hutch Mansell, portrayed by Bob Odenkirk, has a tattoo of the Seven of Spades and the Two of Diamonds on his wrist. This tattoo carries significant meaning as it symbolizes a bad hand in Texas Hold 'Em poker—the worst possible starting hand one can be dealt since the 7-2 combination can't form a straight and is off-suit. The tattoo is emblematic of Hutch's difficult life experiences, reflecting the notion that he has been dealt a poor hand in reality as well.

In a particular scene, Hutch is about to confront two individuals involved in a home invasion linked to his daughter’s bracelet. The tattoo's significance is highlighted when a bystander, noting its symbolism, recognizes it as a dark marker of Hutch's past, potentially tied to his time in special forces. Additionally, the 7-2 hand carries negative connotations beyond poker; in cartomancy, it signifies bad news, hinting at imminent danger or death.

The choice of such an unremarkable hand links directly to Hutch's character; despite his mundane appearance, he harbors a complex and tumultuous backstory. The tattoo does not appear to be arbitrary; instead, it subtly conveys his struggles and resilience in the face of adversity. Just as the odds of winning with a 7-2 hand are minimal, Hutch’s journey in the film mirrors this theme, illustrating how life can serve unexpected challenges.

In essence, the 7 of Spades and 2 of Diamonds tattoo becomes a focal point in Nobody, representative of Hutch Mansell's darker past, his lowly position in life, and ultimately, his journey towards reclaiming power against overwhelming odds.

What Do The Three Dots On A Mafia Tattoo Mean

What Do The Three Dots On A Mafia Tattoo Mean?

The primary mafia is split into two main factions: the Surenos and Nortenos, each with unique tattoos that symbolize their allegiance. A ubiquitous tattoo among members of these gangs is the three dots, which typically signifies loyalty to the Surenos. This tattoo is notably common in prisons, where it's often created using improvised methods. The three dots tattoo, frequently referred to as the "tattoo tear," carries strong connotations and is closely linked with prison culture, further noted for its simplicity and ease of application.

Historically, the three dots tattoo has evolved from its original intent in penal colonies, where British prisoners were marked disgracefully. Over time, prisoners began altering these tattoos to cover their original meanings or convey rebellious sentiments. In Australia, for example, a prevalent tattoo is 'A. C. A. C.,' a derogatory phrase. The three dots can symbolize various concepts, such as "Mi Vida Loca," meaning "My Crazy Life," which reflects a tumultuous lifestyle filled with chaos and violence.

Additionally, a version of this design can include three dots encircling the number 13, further tying it to the Mexican Mafia. This denotes additional meaning, with the dots arranged in a triangular formation representing the path of a typical gang member: prison, hospital, and cemetery. Often, the three dots serve as a rite of passage tattoo among gang members.

Contrary to popular belief, the three dots tattoo does not exclusively signify membership in gangs; its roots in gang culture have made it widely recognized, but it has transcended these boundaries. In some contexts, the tattoo represents life experiences rather than direct gang affiliation. Notably, the arrangement of the dots may vary in significance: for example, when depicted as two parallel lines with three dots above, it stands for the letter M, representing the Mexican Mafia.

Overall, while the three dots tattoo is primarily linked to gang lifestyle and carries meanings of rebellion and hardship, it also reflects the broader experiences of marginalized communities. These tattoos, typically found around the hands or eyes, encapsulate complex narratives of identity, struggle, and a chaotic life, illustrating the multifaceted nature of gang culture. However, potential wearers in gang-dominant areas are often cautioned against adopting this tattoo due to its strong connotations of gang affiliation.

What Does The 3 Line Tattoo Mean

What Does The 3 Line Tattoo Mean?

The tattoo of three lines on the chin is a widely recognized symbol across various cultures, often holding different meanings. In some traditions, these lines signify the three stages of a woman's life: maiden, mother, and crone. Alternatively, they may represent the three elemental forces of nature: earth, air, and water. The symbolic nature of the three lines tattoo can also be interpreted as a representation of Past, Present, and Future, or it can reflect personal milestones, notable experiences, and significant individuals in the wearer’s life.

The design allows for customization—varying in thickness, spacing, and color—which further personalizes the meaning behind the tattoo. Generally, triple line tattoos are less common, but they can symbolize greater strength or stability, as three lines form a more stable foundation than just two. The minimalistic yet impactful design can convey a multitude of meanings, making it relatable to many.

Furthermore, the three lines can represent spiritual or physical journeys and personal growth. In Thailand, the significance of three lines evolves with the "Sak Yant" tradition, where tattoos embody sacred symbols and spiritual protection. Here, the lines embody balance, harmony, and a deep spiritual connection.

People adorn this tattoo design for various reasons, including self-expression, cultural identity, or personal storytelling. For instance, an individual might choose three lines to symbolize their three daughters, indicating love and familial pride, while for another, they may depict personal strength or resilience—perhaps serving as a reminder of ancestral struggles.

The meaning can also vary based on the style; solid black lines might represent mourning or loss, while armband designs can reflect hope, spiritual beliefs, or even luck. Each wearer's interpretation can weave into their life story, making the tattoo a profound personal emblem. Symbolically, the lines can reflect broader concepts of unity, strength, and the interconnectedness of life stages or experiences.

Ultimately, the tattoo of three lines is versatile and rich in interpretation, allowing individuals to express their beliefs, values, and heritage through a simple yet profound design that resonates across cultures.

What Does A Teardrop Under Your Eye Mean?

The teardrop tattoo, situated beneath one eye, is one of the most recognized prison tattoos, containing various meanings that can differ based on geographic location. In certain contexts, the teardrop signifies a lengthy prison sentence, while in others, it may denote that the wearer has committed murder. An outlined teardrop can symbolize an attempted murder. Additionally, the tattoo has been associated with experiences of violence, particularly in prison, where it might indicate that the wearer was raped and tattooed by the assailant as a form of ownership.

Typically, the teardrop tattoo conveys themes of loss, grief, and mourning. For many wearers, it represents the death of a family member or a close friend, serving as a lasting reminder of their loved ones. The placement of the tattoo also affects its meaning; for example, a teardrop under the left eye may imply something different than one under the right. However, outside of some niche interpretations, the significance of which eye the tattoo is beneath is generally minimal.

The traditional design of the teardrop tattoo is a simple droplet shape, though variations exist, including designs filled with color or accompanied by symbols like crosses or swords, which can further signify loss. Popular culture often portrays the teardrop tattoo as emblematic of gang or prison affiliation, yet its connotations extend beyond these associations.

Overall, the teardrop tattoo carries a complex array of meanings linked to criminal activity, personal suffering, and emotional remembrance, making it a deeply intricate symbol with a varied narrative shaped by its wearer’s life experiences. Despite its relatively small size, the teardrop often embodies significant emotional depth and cultural resonance within both prison and broader societal contexts.

  • My dad has never liked tattoos but I really wanted one in his handwriting. So I asked him to write You’ll Never Walk Alone (the song of the football team we both support), and I got it tattooed. Around the time of my appointment, my dad was diagnosed with cancer, so I became even more attached to the idea and I absolutely loved the tattoo when it was done. He also quite liked it which was a huge surprise, but a bigger surprise was when he rang me up six months later saying he also wanted the tattoo! I was in shock 😂One of my brothers wanted in as well, so now we all have matching ones. My dad is having treatment and it’s going well so far ❤ Loved this article Alfie!

  • Perfect Sunday perusal your family having fun ❤ been the age of 52 now I sit and look back on all 5he memories we made with our 5 children. Photos and my diaries to now perusal our children with their children and how memories are on articles and phones. • Been perusal way before you and Zoë started dating. It’s so surreal to think about your journey from then to now. Thank you for letting us in on your life, no matter how little part it is from your day to day life. It’s been a joy perusal you grow and mature in your craft and as a person ❤ Wishing you nothing but the best in everything.

  • Watching you and Zoe parent is a beautiful thing- to the point of having a healing element. When she wanted to have the yogurt drink even though you were cooking breakfast that gentle check in to just remind her your about to eat but then still respect she needed something sooner and the positive reassurance of making that ok is going to do everything to make her comfortable and confident with food and eating. ❤😊

  • I love hearing about your tattoos Alfie. I remember when you first got your bee tattoo and I always thought that was a neat design and placement. So when the time came for me to say goodbye to my favourite uncle I wanted a special tattoo to remember him by and I remembered your bee tattoo and thought that this was the perfect thing to represent my Uncle B as he was such a busy bee that never sat still or was in one place and was such a sweet tooth as well (hence the honey bee). Thank you for your inspiration and idea!!

  • I love your analogy with the different glasses representing the different areas of life we need to focus on/dedicate intentional time to! It’s spot on. I’m 26 and I am finally learning and understanding that wellbeing is about balance😊 and I really feel like having balance in life doesn’t just give you abundance, it also balances your thoughts and emotions. My question for you would be: when faced with a difficult situation that you can’t really control, how do you deal with the frustration of it? How do you proceed? Have a great day!

  • I have 2 tattoos, one is 2 intersecting waves representing my grandfathers. One grew up at sea and went fishing, and the other worked all his life on a boat. I also have a rose for my parents, whose favorite flower is her, I call my dad “flower” and she is the flower of the Virgin Mary. Question for next vlog; ” If you could time travel in past, in which moment would you like to go back with Ottie and Novie?”

  • I loved the chat about how much “water” you are going to be pouring into each bucket bc it reminds me of a stroke rehab technique where a patient only has so much energy before they feel fatigued so they have to prioritize what activities and thoughts they are going to be engaging in/with throught their day. It is something that really makes you think doesn’t it? What really matters to us in our day to day?

  • I have a tattoo on my leg of a pendulum grandfather clock, and it’s because when life was tumultuous and uncertain or not going in the direction I was hoping, my Nannie would always say that life is like a pendulum; it swings low, but always swings high again. And that’s to remind you to be grateful for life’s ebbs and flows, and sometimes the momentum of a low can help propel you into a new exciting high.

  • I have a tattoo on my ribs that have different phases of the moon and underneath it says “you’re still whole”, it basically means no matter what phase I’m in during my life, or if I’m going through stuff that I’m still whole and I’m still myself. I also think the moon is just beautiful:) love these vlogs btw, ottie is so talkative

  • I love a Sunday evening vlog from you and Zoe – such good vibes as always!! I’m also trying to live a happier life, and trying not to care about what others think of me – I’ve finally started my own tiktok and creating content that I love to watch myself, I’m having so much fun and it’s bringing me so much joy. I love being creative and thinking of different ideas all the time, it’s so fun!! I’m so glad I finally did it. I’m also starting 75 hard tomorrow, which is something I’ve been wanting to do for ages in order to better fuel my body and mind…🧘🏼‍♀️ Thank you for the constant inspiration and positivity! Have a lovely week ahead, sending positive vibes your way 🫶🏻 x

  • As someone who has also been perusal you since they were 12 (I turned 25 in March) it’s been wild to grow up perusal you and Zoe and be inspired to do so many things and aspire to be a better version of myself. Also as someone who also has a few tattoos that are all big and bold color pieces (8 right now, getting 2 more over the summer), ribs isn’t as bad as everyone says at least not for me. However, my thigh made me want to cry in spots and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. I look forward to perusal these every week. Love from the states❤️

  • Just heading out but saw your message on the broadcast website and wanted to jump over here to say hey and I can’t wait to watch! I visited England last week for the first time and went to Brighton for a weekend to visit some of your beautiful familys’ favorite haunts! Absolutely loved it. Looking forward to this article. • I‘ve been perusal your guys‘ articles for 12 years now and started learning English on quite an advanced level at my age in Germany. If it wasn‘t for you I wouldn‘t be an English teacher now. I think sometimes you don‘t know what a massive influence you guys have on us. I wouldn‘t have made it through middle and grammar school without you guys💗🙂‍↔️

  • The perspective tattoo has resonated with me soo much over the years ( literally since the time you got it ) that I ended up getting the same one at the same place last November! It helps with navigating any situation in my life sooo much better! (Now I have a bunch of little tattoos, some that have meaning and the others cause it looks stupid and cute!😂) Have a great Sunday you guys!✨

  • I have sooooooo may tattoos now – 21 in fact, my favourite though has to be the one on my wrist, my dad passed when I was 23 and at the age of 17 I skydived as I was 17 a legal guardian had to sign the consent form, my mum refused as she didn’t actually want her little girl jumping out of a plane but my dad was like YEP GIVE IT HERE! when he passed I found the consent form and of course got it on me with a cloud to remain me that ‘the sky is the limit’ as he always used to say to me. all my tattoos are memories throughout my life and I absolutely love them. my partner now has 4 too but and he met me was completely naked of tattoos! they make me soooooo happy and I’d more in the future x

  • I have a tattoo of two flowers on my arm (quite cliché I know), one is a peony to symbolise true love, they are also my mom’s favourite flowers; and the other is a poppy flower, to symbolise resilience, health and the shortness of life, it’s also a big symbol in greek mythology which I love; I’m definitealy planning on getting another tattoo, I eventually want a whole sleeve but I’m currently not too sure about any of my ideas so I need to think it through some more

  • I got my first tattoo 3 months ago now and its a line like alfies ottie tattoo but in the middle it has the moon and the sun below it and basically the meaning behind it is i feel really anxious with the unknown and change so one day my mind created this saying “no matter what happens there are always two things you can always count on- the moon will always rise and the sun will always set” and that just helps relieve the anxiety so i wanted a tattoo to encapsulate that saying x

  • Loved this article! I have two tattoos: 1. I have a little fine line star matching with my sister on my wrist 2. I lost my uncle to brain cancer 6 years ago. He was the only one in our entire family with a tattoo and he promised he’d take me to get my first one. Unfortunately he got sick and passed all within a year so we couldn’t get it done. Long story short he had this old sweater with a moose on it that he’d wear all the time when I was little so we started calling him Moose and the nickname stuck with him until the end. I have Moose antlers with his initials tattooed on my rib cage. I carry him with me wherever I go and it is my favorite thing in the world,

  • i have 4 tattoos. Two of them are ink prints of my two dogs paw prints. One is a how to train your dragon image as was my favorite movie growing up and learnt all the words. Then my most recent was a matching with my mum where hers says ‘to infinity’ and mine says ‘and beyond’ . all my tattoos have meaning so i always know i will never regret them.

  • Loving the vibes of your vlogs Alf!, also when growing up my mum would read the same book to me and we would say I love you to the moon and stars and back every night, I only have the one tattoo currently which is for my nanny who I sadly lost when I was 9 (I’m 25 now) but it’s nan with wings either side I always wanted my tattoos to have meanings behind them especially my first one! ♥️

  • Sat to eat breakfast and a vlog! Yeah I’m feeling great today too! I love that you love learning too. I was just saying to a friend that I feel like the only one that enjoys learning new things! • I’d love to know if there is anything, especially something that might have scared you, that Ottie and Novie might have helped you overcome/see in a new perspective. I always feel like you can learn so much from kids because they often look at the world differently and in a more positive light, since they haven’t learned a way to fear it. I love your articles so much, they really are the perfect way to wind down! Also, if there’s ever a future drop or restock in FutureSelf clothing, I’d LOVE the teal colour to come back, it was so nice! 🙂

  • i have a tattoo that says “what if, oh well” the what if is scratched. meaning to not keep asking myself what if this happens or what if blabla and just do it, and instead go oh well its done i did it and im okay it helps me get out of my comfort zone and be a little more extrovert. a good reminder to not doubt myself ❤️‍🩹

  • I have just one and it’s my initials behind my ear in my grandpa’s handwriting. He was never fond of the name Morgan (for a girl, because it’s traditionally a male name), I have two middle names and my last name and together it spells M.E.G.H. so growing up (and to this day) he was the only person to ever call me “Meg”. So when I turned 18 I got that as my first tattoo. Want more but they’re just so darn expensive 😂

  • Loved this article so much, thank you Alfie! I have just the one tattoo at the moment and it’s the heart that Taylor Swift drew me on my very first signed album that I got from her which is actually the lover album – it means so much to me! I have so many more ideas for tattoos but time and money constraints don’t make it easy, but I’ll get there 😅 I loveee your tattoos for your girls, I’d love to do something similar for my girls too 🥰

  • Great articles as always. My tattoos are all of things that I love. Number 1 is a butterfly for the band Black Veil Brides, number 2 was for my favourite tv show Supernatural, number 3 is a Winter Soldier/Captain America Shield for Marvel, number 4 was the Deathly Hallows symbol from Harry Potter, number 5 is book related as I love reading and number 6 is a Disney one that I designed myself featuring We’re All Mad Here/Stitch/Minnie and Mickey/the rose from Beauty and the Beast. I want to get some Black Veil Brides lyrics underneath my BVB butterfly tattoo

  • Alfie and Zoe you are both one of my favourite YouTubers and Joe and Dianne Alfie Zoe Joe and Dianne I have watched your articles from the start of your YouTube website I hope Zoe had an amazing birthday and congratulations Zoe and Alfie on your new baby girl Alfie and Zoe I would love to meet you both one day Zoe and Alfie can I get a shoutout I love you Zoe and Alfie Joe and Dianne ❤️❤️🎉🎉🎂🎁🎊🎊🎈🎈

  • i have 5 tattoos the meanings are one of my dogs ear and his name, one of the manchester bee as that’s where i have lived all my life, one of the pause, play, rewind and stop button to show that you your past, present and future to show it’s your life and you dictate that and one of a N on my finger to show my deadname and my now name and one of my childhood lizard i grew up with that passed away i had him from age 5-13

  • I think Alfie did the correct thing when he realised that he was on the memorial!! People are just taking it to far. Why would you let someone know that they hate them? That’s just being in the wrong,,! I’m very proud of Alfie for letting all his fans and more know that he didn’t mean to sit on the memorial and that it was just a common mistake x

  • People make mistakes and it’s so stupid that people can’t realize that. I love Alfie and I think he’s one of the nicest and funniest YouTube’s around, so people need to calm down and stop hating on him for the accident he made, and people posting more and more articles about what he did isn’t going to help anything!

  • I just don’t understand it!! why is this a big deal? If he did actually know he wouldn’t post the picture / when someone pointed it out he deleted the pic and apologized! why is this a fucking big deal when its really just a mistake? are people still taking the piss at him just because of his experience article he made back then? fucking hell man people have so much spare time to hate and are busy to prove a non-existing point. If it was you instead of him I think you would’ve understood what its like to be completely CLUELESS and still get HATE for it. oh god im done

  • Not kidding this truly is the snowflake generation. The fact that people are getting upset for him sitting on a memorial is stupid he didn’t realise what it was so people complaining that ‘he is the worst’ are just looking for an excuse to to get upset about something he has apologised so everyone move on with your lives

  • wow people get so butthurt over the smallest of things I’m laughing at how people are supposed to be perfect all the time. we’ve all had moments where we think oh shit I shouldn’t have done that like it’s normal and you’re human so stop judging others YOU ARE NOT PERFECT YOURSELF AND YOU NEVER WILL BE STOP PUTTING OTHERS DOWN BECAUSE OF YOUR OWN INSECURITIES

  • Why are people focused on making ANY situation a negative one! We already have WAYYY worse things to worry about, and THIS is was people get upset about? he sat on a statue, apologized and deleted the picture. Get over it! He was just trying to show some love to the LGBTQ+ community, and he gets hate for it? Because of sitting on a small statue? Smh

  • Omg I’m sure all these people hating on him are perfect people who have never made a mistake ever….ever. Come on guys, live and let live. They joke about it because it’s baffling to them that they get so much hate for innocent mistakes that the rest of the population wouldn’t even consider if it were them. I’m not excusing what he did I’m just saying that he had no “evil” intent, he’s apologised, it was an innocent mistake,

  • Here we go again.. People get offended by anything if it involves a “celebrity”. You know there are rapist and murderers out there getting less backlash than someone who made an honest mistake? Obviously it was dumb, not denying that. However, people on twitter try to be such moralists. They can better put their time into being pissed at people who deliberately offend others.

  • Umm… I am pretty sure a lot of people sit on fucking memorials and don’t realise it and post it online, just bcse Alfie is ” Famous”. Just bcse we’re fucking “no one” doesn’ t mean we should put the so called influencers on fire. First of all they never asked and said they were influencers. If you have problem remind yourself that you probably too have taken pics on fucking memorials and never acknowledged that fact. It is so fucking stupid to bring people for such bullshit. Instead of being pissed at him for sitting on the memorial go and donate AIDS charities-THATS A REAL CHANGE! 🍵
