5.0 rating based on 70 ratings

Conor McGregor, a former UFC champion and the ninth best fighter in its rankings, has a unique tattoo set that includes a crucifix on his neck, a thorny helix running vertically along his back, and a helix of thorns going towards his lower back, just below his cross tattoo. This tattoo is not even known to McGregor, but it stands out as his first tattoo.

McGregor’s tattoos are a testament to his unique style and appearance. He has a crucifix on his neck that extends into a thorny helix running vertically along his back, while his Celtic Cross on his back represents faith, loyalty, and heritage. His most recent tattoo is stenciled writing above and below the tiger, stating his name, McGregor, and his nickname, Notorious.

On his forearm, McGregor has a tattoo of a gentleman wearing a hat. On his neck, he has a cross with wings on his neck. However, McGregor is not a religious person and does not have any political or religious affiliations. His tattoos are a significant part of his image, with a crucifix on his back, a helix of thorns running down his spine, and various tattoos on his chest, forearm, and back.

In addition to his tattoos, McGregor has made history at UFC 205, making history with his “Thorny Helix” tattoo. This design symbolizes the duality of human life and is an old-school style ink tattoo.

In an interview, McGregor revealed that this was his first tattoo, but the meaning of the tattoo remains unknown to him. He also shared that his tattoos are a reflection of his unique style and appearance, and that he has no political or religious affiliations.

Does Connor McGregor Have A Crucifix Tattoo?

Conor McGregor sports a winged crucifix tattoo on the nape of his neck, a design that many initially interpreted as a sign of his Catholic faith. However, McGregor himself has openly expressed disdain for religion, stating, "Fuck politics and fuck religion." Along with the winged crucifix, McGregor has other tattoos, including a Celtic cross on his back, reflecting his Irish heritage, and various symbols ranging from a gorilla and a lion to a rose, dagger, and Arabic writing, totaling over eight tattoos.

The crucifix tattoo, running vertically down his neck and continuing into a thorny helix on his back, appears deeply connected to Christian symbolism, as it represents the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, a pivotal event in Christianity. Despite the significance typically associated with such imagery, McGregor does not identify as a follower of any religion, leaving many to speculate about the true meaning behind his tattoos.

Furthermore, the winged crucifix has led to assumptions about his faith, particularly given his Irish background, although McGregor has distanced himself from any religious affiliation. The thorny helix that connects to the crucifix adds complexity to his tattoo narrative, although its origin and meaning remain unspoken by McGregor himself.

Through his tattoos, including the prominent winged crucifix and thorny helix, McGregor’s body art tells a story that complicates the straightforward religious interpretations that others might impose upon it. Ultimately, while the tattoos may evoke specific cultural or religious connotations, McGregor's personal views reflect a rejection of those connections, making his ink both a personal statement and a point of public curiosity.

  • I don’t like how the tiger is done. It looks like unfinished watercolour. I think it needs way more black to flow with his other tattoos. The letters could be filled in to flow too. The gorilla is one of the best traditional tattoos imo. I really think of Connor as a man of quality that can get what ever he wants. Point blank, he should look you up. I’m a huge fan and keep your website on in the background. Much respect!

  • I truly did not expect your assessment of the chest piece. But I think that your feelings for the MMA and of Conor brings you to a different view. While your own artistry does reflect in your work, you can appreciate how Conor’s art is a reflection of himself. You can appreciate it for what it is, even though your own tattoo style and art are not the same. I hope I am stating this properly.

  • why don’t you talk about that shit on your left arm? that sort of spiked ball with all the lines burst?…I think it was one of the first tattoos you did on yourself….come on, be good!! you already have so many likes, is there a need to talk about others?..you’re good, no one doubts it, but give a little humility, dude

  • The gorilla’s eyes are located where you’d look at Conor if you were fighting him — around the collarbone. If the gorilla’s eyes were looking straight at you, it would increase your concentration on the guerilla’s eyes and thus McNugget, but they way it is now, it distracts an opponent’s eyes off to the one side in the direction of the ape’s gaze. It’s actually quite brilliant. One more slight fighting advantage for Conor.
